FAQs

  • 1. What amenities are included in the rooms?

All rooms feature air-conditioning, ceiling fan, ensuite bathroom, rain shower with hot water, high-quality linens, bathroom accessories by Kambio Nature and comfortable bedding designed for a relaxing stay.

  • 2. Is Wi-Fi available at the lodge?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available, but note that we are in a remote area so connection speeds may be slower than in the city.

  • 3. How do I get to KRIEL LODGE?

We are located in Tmat Paeuy village, Preah Vihear Province. We are accessible by car year round and we can arrange transport for an additional fee. If you need more accurate directions, these will be provided upon booking. We’re just over an hour from Koh Ker Temple complex, and half an hour from Preah Vihear City by road.

  • 4. Can I book a stay longer than three nights?

Yes, and if you are a wildlife or temple enthusiast, we highly recommend it. We’ve kept our booking page simple so for stays longer than three nights, please fill in the form on the Book Your Stay page or click here so we can assist you with availability and special arrangements.

  • 5. What wildlife can I expect to see during my stay?

Kriel Lodge is located within the Kulen Prum Tep Wildlife Sanctuary landscape, so guests may occasionally spot species such as the Giant Ibis, White-shouldered Ibis, and other birds flying by the lodge area. Whilst we can organise local guides, for dedicated birdwatching or wildlife expeditions, guided tours can be booked separately through our partner,  Sam Veasna Conservation Tours, who specialize in expert-led field experiences. We can assist with these bookings and ensure that your chances of observing the incredible species of the Northern Plains are the highest!

  • 6. Are meals provided at the lodge?

Yes. We provide freshly prepared meals served in our lodge. Breakfast is included with your stay, and additional meals can be arranged upon request. Our menu changes frequently as we take advantage of seasonality in local produce. Let us know your dietary requirements and we can do our best to accommodate.

  • 7. Can families or groups stay at the lodge?

Yes. We also provide family bungalows for up to six people, making them ideal for families or groups wanting shared space and privacy.

  • 8. Are the pathways and main areas, such as the restaurant, easily accessible?

Yes. All of our lodges, restaurant, and bar are on one level and we have accessible restrooms in the lodge and the restaurant.

  • 9. What can I do when I am there?

That depends on how active you want to be! You can relax in the lodge, stroll through the community protected area with one of our community members, chancing a sighting of rare birds - or you can be more adventurous and ask us about remote temples, mountain trekking and much more!
